AISL Harrow Schools Seal Conferment Ceremonies & Celebrations

Celebrate the Educational Excellence of AISL Harrow Family of Schools

In recognition of the remarkable achievements of AISL Harrow Schools in their pursuit of holistic education, governors from Harrow in the UK will proudly present our schools with a prestigious Harrow Seal this October (2023). The conferment ceremony celebrates the close ties between the AISL Harrow Schools and the esteemed 450-year heritage of Harrow in the UK, as well as showcases the collective dedication of the AISL Family of Schools in advancing the vision of “Educational Excellence for Life and Leadership” across Asia.

The Harrow Seal

Harrow’s journey to educational excellence dates back to 1572 when a Royal Charter was issued on behalf of Queen Elizabeth I, granting John Lyon the right to open a school for boys from the parish of Harrow on the Hill. The Harrow Seal is a replica of the wax seal that was attached to the Royal Charter.

Made in 1572, the wax seal was originally attached to the base of the School Charter.
One side of the seal depicts Queen Elizabeth I on her throne, the other shows her on horseback.

Over hundreds of years, students of Harrow School in the UK carved their names into the walls of the famous Fourth Form Room. The plaque to be presented during the ceremony has infused this lasting legacy into its design, featuring some prominent names from our family of Old Harrovians. It symbolises the unwavering commitment of AISL to “Educational Excellence for Life and Leadership” across our community and beyond.
