As a founding student, I’m growing with the school.
Ever since joining Harrow Shanghai at the age of 2, it has been a vital part of my life and shaped my future in ways I never imagined. In Early Years, my pre-nursery teacher recognised my balancing skills and encouraged me to explore ballet and piano. Taking her advice, I began to develop a genuine passion for both.
Under the guidance and support of experienced coaches, I’ve earned numerous awards in ballet and even landed a starring role in the school musical! Each achievement has only deepened my love for arts and my commitment to growing as a performer.
This magical school has the power to transform every ordinary child into someone extraordinary.
From a young age, I looked up to the older students who confidently spoke in public and organised activities. Their maturity and confidence inspired me to be like them. I learned from them and set high goals for myself.
In Year 4, thanks to the encouragement and support of my peers and teachers, I had the incredible opportunity to become the Head Student. This role enabled me to practice public speaking on many occasions and build my confidence, and I found that I genuinely enjoyed it.
At AISL Harrow, leadership is integrated into every aspect of learning and activities. The four Harrow values—Humility, Courage, Honour, and Fellowship—are at the heart of our community. Everyone is eager to share their knowledge and support one another. Through every position I’ve held, I’ve experienced the joy of helping others and serving the community.

Harrow feels like my second home, where I’ve built a sense of belonging and self-identity.
Harrow is more than a school; it’s where I discovered my passions and grew as a person. I’m grateful for the support, opportunities, and sense of community that the school offers. I am deeply thankful to my parents for enrolling me here nine years ago. I don’t just see myself as a student; I proudly identify as an International Harrovian. The values and experiences I’ve gained during my time here have become a part of who I am, and I will carry them with me into the future.
Winnie’s story is a shining example of what young minds can do with personalised guidance, support and care. Teachers, parents, and students work hand in hand to create a nurturing ground where each student is empowered to discover their identity, strive for excellence, and make a meaningful impact in their own ways.
