The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), a world-leading authority in music assessment and education, and Asia International School Limited (AISL), a leading education services provider and operator of Harrow-branded schools across Asia, have today announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to high-quality music education across Asia, with a particular focus on the Greater Bay Area and mainland China.
This partnership is built on a shared commitment to empowering young musicians, strengthening teaching standards, and elevating ABRSM’s presence as the preferred music education provider among leading institutions in the region.
Under the partnership, ABRSM and AISL intend to explore a range of collaborative activities, including expanding access to ABRSM’s teaching resources across AISL Harrow Schools and beyond, providing continuing professional development opportunities for teachers, and exploring joint advocacy and research initiatives to support music education. AISL will be recognised as an ABRSM Partner.
Warren Lee, Principal Music Director of AISL and also a former ABRSM scholar, said: “Through the AISL Centre of Excellence for Music Education, we are committed to inspiring students, empowering our teachers and creating pathways that connect the classroom to the world stage. Our partnership with ABRSM strengthens that mission, bringing this golden benchmark of assessments, professional development and innovative programming directly into our schools and neighbouring communities.”
Chris Cobb, ABRSM’s Chief Executive, said: “At ABRSM, we’re delighted to be working with AISL to support and broaden the provision of high-quality music education in Asia. This important partnership reflects our vision of bringing the joy of music to lives everywhere and continues ABRSM’s long tradition of inspiring and encouraging music making, teaching and learning globally. We have particularly strong links with Asia and are looking forward to exploring the many new opportunities that this exciting collaboration will bring.”
